The 2022 Gala
The 74th Cockenzie and Port Seton Children's Gala was held on Saturday 28 May. Elsa Scott was crowned Gala Queen by East Lothian Provost John McMillan.
This year was a welcome return to the full gala after two years where only very limited activities were possible due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The weather was initially overcast but the sun arrived in time for the start of the crowning ceremony. In a departure from tradition, the Crowning Ceremony preceeded the parade. Unfortunately the fishing boats were unable to take part in the gala due to what appear to be late notified and onerous conditions imposed by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.
The East Lothian Courier published a gallery of photographs on their website the following day. An article covering the Gala and some photogaphs were published in the 2 June edition of the Courier.
